Our Story

The partners of Jiao and Guo were new immigrants from Dalian – one of the most modernised coastal cities in China with diversiform Japanese, Korean and Russian cultures. Mr. Feng Jiao (well known as Jon) started his catering career as an assistant chef in a five-star luxury hotel in his early 20s. After 20 years working in top Chinese and Japanese restaurants in China and Australia, he decided to bring his unique cuisine to the Lake District, his wife Dr. Liuchen Guo’s favourite place.

Dr. Guo is an academic professional specialised in Cruise Management and Marketing. Her worldwide experiences contribute to the style of the cuisine in order to make sure the restaurant delivers the best quality food and service under a new concept – post-pandemic lifestyle.

After being delayed by the world’s most dramatic lockdown in human history, West View Restaurant finally opened in the heart of the Lake District – Bowness – in August 2020.

Our Food

West View Restaurant offers a selection of modernised oriental cuisine – including Chinese, Japanese and Korean – as well as western cuisine such as full English breakfasts.

Sushi, curry, noodles, bibimbap and sandwiches are offered in various versions, including meat lovers, low calories, special spicy favours, vegetarian and vegan. We aim to ensure that everyone will find their favourite food at West View Restaurant.

All food is freshly made with mostly locally sourced ingredients, prepared and served in a high standard hygienic environment. We believe the pandemic has changed many people’s lifestyle; therefore, we are offering take-away in bio-degradable boxes in order to provide a safer and eco-friendly food service.
